About Me
Sarah Pribonic is a recent graduate from Miami University in Art Education and Studio Arts with a concentration in Metals and Jewelry Design. Through her four years she has studied drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, metals, and printmaking in order to learn as many different techniques and skills as possible in an intellectually rich environment. With these abilities, she strives to instruct and guide students as a teacher. Outside of art, she's participated in several sports, including, but not limited to: broomball, volleyball, and women's ice hockey.
She grew up in Alexandria, Ohio as the youngest of three children where the greatest influence on her art career came from her high school teacher, Andrew Kirtland. With his guidance and encouragement, she strove to also help form and shape the minds of future generations, and since then, has discovered her love of teaching young children.

What I Do?
For a long time artists and art educators have suffered a break between practices. I strive as both an artist and a teacher to demonstrate that it is possible to work on my own creative explorations while still managing to teach fundamentals and key skills anyone interested in the art field would need to know. Keeping up to date on my own practice feeds me the inspiration and love of art that I can pass along. It keeps me aware of changes and advances. Art bridges a gap between many different practices: science, math, critical thinking, self-identification, and more.
Why I do it:
Art has been a method to explore and refine ideas to me. The world is full of new and interesting cultures, thoughts, and beliefs and the more I seek out traveling the world the more information builds up within me. Art has become my facet for laying out information, categorizing it, and ultimately gaining a better sense of understanding over how things work universally, cosmically, and metaphysically. I love art and want nothing more than o share such a creative method of expression and understanding the world with children.

My goals for the future:
As a graduate from Miami University, I plan on gaining valuable teaching experience in the field. With experience and understanding, my practice will grow. I want to establish myself within a school system where I'll have the influence and community to impact youth while inspiring creativity and vivid lives. Then, after gaining that knowledge, I want to seek out a college where I'll be able to get a Masters in Fine Art or Administration in order to continue to grow as an artist, a teacher, and an individual. Outside of work, I plan to continue traveling around the world and gaining further insights and continuing my own artwork. Traveling has been extremely liberating and informational. Every country I see gives me countless ideas and chances to explore and improve. Eventually I will have my own studio where I will be able to create without concern. |
